The ‘Arsh Of Allah is the Matrix; or Can we say that we live in the Computer simulation

There is, now-a-days, much ado regarding the meaning of several words in Qur’aan. Those include and nay is this list conclusive,استوى, يد , (istawa, yad, respectively and others. I, being of curious mind, have sought to find the meaning of استوى until I listened to a lecture series on the العقيدة للاهل سنة والجماحة Aqeedah of Ahl Sunnah wal Jama’ah or the creed of the People of the Way and Consensus (the majority of Sunni Muslims), by Shaykh Muhammad bin Yahya Ninowy.

The aforementioned shaykh based this specific lecture on his well written exegesis of Satisfying the Need with the Obligatory Creed of “Ilm At-Tawheed”.{Add the link to both the book and lecture}After this I refuse to even attempt to translate the words istawa and yad (,استوى, يد ).
However, there are other phrases and words whose meaning in translation are not questioned and, perhaps, should be. It need be understood from the outset that each language in this world has a very specific environment in which it blossomed. And just as a tree that grows beside an iron fence, it due time the trunk will grow around the fence until the iron work and wood become inseparable. The roots of the tree forcing the gate up and out of its housing and the trunk of the tree enveloping the fence and preventing its collapse; thus language is shaped by the ecology in which it is spoken and its speakers shape the ecology once the eyes, tongue, minds and hearts have fully encompassed all they survey.

There after I was thinking about many Arabic words that have multiple meanings. However, the word عرشor ‘arsh is generally translated to mean Throne as in العرش العطيم, al-‘Arsh ul-‘Azeem, meaning the Great Throne, Allah’s Throne.

The Surah which got me to ponder if perhaps the word ‘arsh can have more than one meaning Surah 18 al-Kahf or The Cave, in particular theاياة or ayaat (I don’t like the word ‘verse’, which is the usual word chosen when translating, as it lacks the depth of meaning, the word اياة has the meaning of signs or tokens) discussing the two men and the garden. In the 42 Ayah says:

وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى مَا أَنْفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُشْرِكْ بِرَبِّي أَحَدًا
Sahih International

And his fruits were encompassed [by ruin], so he began to turn his hands about [in dismay] over what he had spent on it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises, and said, “Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone.”

The orange word in the above quote means it’s trellis. It is the plural form of the word عرش . When in the Quran the word is usually translated to mean “Throne” thus most English translations of the meaning becomes إستوى على العرش “Rose above the Throne” or “Established himself Above the Throne.” And this is

Yet, I would like to propose a new rendering. Not for the word استوى which as I already mentioned, I refuse to render into English. Given the not so recent conclusion of a scientific paper published under the title “Constraints on the Universe as a Numerical Simulation” written by Silas R. Beane, et al., from the Institute for Nuclear Theory, Seattle, WA , Helmholtz-Institut für Strahlen- und Kernphysik (Theorie), Universität Bonn, Bonn, Germany and the Department of Physics, University of Washington, Seattle which is also USA whose drafters assert the universe as a matrix.

Can we say in other words, a trellis or lattice-work? If all of creation rests upon or exist in a Matrix or lattice would it not be the largest “Thing” for lack of better term, in existence? For all that exists exist within it?

Then we look to the hadith where رسول الله e said that the عرش is the largest of all creation.

I am not writing this in an attempt to say what is, rather to get you thinking.

The fixed meaning of Quranic exegesis and the usage of the four classic schools of Understanding or the four jurists (you see فقه , means ‘understanding’. i.e. the understanding of the of the Quran and Hadith and the interpretation of the two by the Companions t has no greater proponent than me).

Yet every Muslim understands that the eloquence of the Quran lies in the fact that each اياة has more than one meaning. Furthermore, the saying is well enough known “If you want to talk to Allah then offer salat and if you want Allah to speak to you then read the Quran.
Personally I open the Quran to a random page while in doing so my heart is asking for guidance to a particular problem I may have. I asked several friends, classmates and associates if they do the same they all said yes.

Therefore, the consensus among most Muslims I have met is that we can all interpret the Quran as needed for personal guidance. In addition to this, a particular اياة may hold several different meanings in separate circumstances.

So as humanities knowledge of the Universe expands, our understanding of the multiple meanings of اياة will expand. Yet, the applicable meaning, ie. The tafseer (exegesis), as applied for the shariah will remain the same, while allowing for perhaps a deeper meaning for the personal guidance.العرش العطيم  may possibly mean a matrix.
