Live In Afghanistan 2023

There are Afghan’s protesting the current leadership. We see the demonstration they hold. We also hear the same meaningless slogans we hear in ever protest world wide.

“Free Afghanistan” “Death to the oppressors.” Long live the resistance, etc.

If one asks them what do you mean? There would be no response of substance.

The Murderer for Whom Ayaat (verses) of Quran were Revealed

KNOW

He is The Forgiving. He is The One to Whom All Turn. Repentance is the path to His mercy and guidence.

As the message of the Prophet became known and the threat he posed to a polytheist society was clear, the enmity toward the pillars of Islam was made manifest.

Under these circumstances that the daughter of Utbah ibn Rabia’ called upon Jubair ibn Mutim to hire his slave. Wahshi. Wahshi ibn Harb, who strength and spear was known to all.

“You want your freedom Wahshi?” they asked him. Any human in his position would respond in the affirmative. “Then kill Hamza bin Abdulmuttalib.”

He was now a free man. When Islam spread and reached Makkah, he ran away to Ta’if for safety. In Ramadan 9 A.H[2], the delegation of Thaqif (from Ta’if) sent their messengers to Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and he was told that Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam did not harm the messengers so he went out with them.

At this meeting, Sayyidina Wahshi radiya Llahu ‘anhu embraced Islam. Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam asked him, “Are you Wahshi?” “Yes,” he replied nervously.  “Was it you who killed Hamzah?” was the next question. It send a shiver down his spine. How to reply to this question? He said, “What happened is what you have been told of.” Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam requested him, “Can you hide your face from me?” The memory of his uncle was still fresh in his mind. Sayyidina Wahshi radiya Llahu ‘anhu returned without delay to Ta’if and lived there. He would avoid Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam so that the latter may not see him. His regret and remorse over his past crimes was overwhelming him.

Hardly two years later, Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away. Apostasy spread across Arabia like wild fire. But the people of Ta’if remained resolute and did not forsake their din. Around that time, Musaylamah al Kadhab came onto the scene claiming to be a prophet. Although his Islam had wiped out all his previous sins, Sayyidina Wahshi radiya Llahu ‘anhu found a golden opportunity. “I will go out to Musaylamah and kill him, and make amends for killing Hamzah,” he determined. He grabbed hold of the very lance he used to slay Hamzah and joined the army of Sayyidina Khalid ibn al Walid radiya Llahu ‘anhu who marched towards Yamamah to battle against Musaylamah al Kadhab and his formidable force, the Banu Hanifah. It was an extremely tough battle, but the Muslims managed to defeat the enemy on the battlefield. The enemy fled and took refuge in a garden, the garden of death. Sayyidina Bara’ ibn Malik radiya Llahu ‘anhu told them to hurl him over so that he might open the door from inside. His near suicidal plan worked out perfectly and after killing many of the infidels, he was successful in opening the door from the inside of the garden. The Muslims rushed into the garden and began attacking the apostates of the Banu Hanifah. Sayyidina Wahshi radiya Llahu ‘anhu also entered the garden of death with the firm intent to kill the devil. He had been supplicating to Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala to grant him the opportunity to kill the devil, Musaylamah. “Suddenly, I saw a man standing near a gap in a wall. He looked like an ash-coloured camel and his hair was dishevelled,” he relates. The imposter had lost his senses out of rage. When his shaitan would possess him, he would froth at the mouth until the froth would emerge from his jaws. [3] Sayyidina Wahshi radiya Llahu ‘anhu moved forward towards him and sized him up. He lifted his lance and with a grunt, hurled it in the direction of Musaylamah. It soared through the air and plunged into the centre of Musaylamah’s chest till it passed out through his shoulders. Seconds later, an Ansari man, Sayyidina Abu Dujanah radiya Llahu ‘anhu, attacked him and struck him on the head with a sword, finishing him off for good. Seeing this, a slave girl on the roof of a house said, “Alas! The chief of the believers (actually imposters) has been killed by a black slave.”[4] He killed the best of people in his Jahiliyyah and the worst of men in his Islam. The following year, he participated in Yarmuk and thereafter settled in Hims where he passed away.

The Spiritual Disease of Pessimism

In the name of Allah the encompassing-mercy the specific mercy. The one who created us from mud. The one who expands of restrains humanity and jinn. The one who sent to us Muhammad with reality and guidance that we may enter Paradise, as to what follows, Allah says in His book,

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
Allah expands the provision for whom He wills and narrows it (for whom He wills). They are happy with the worldly life, while the worldly life, compared to the Hereafter, is nothing but a little enjoyment.

(Sahih International)
Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.

-Sura Ar-Ra’d, Ayah 26

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
The disbelievers say, “Why is it that no sign (of their choice) has been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “Allah lets go astray whom He wills and gives guidance to those who turn to Him,

(Sahih International)
And those who disbelieved say, “Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, [O Muhammad], “Indeed, Allah leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] –

-Sura Ar-Ra’d, Ayah 27

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
the ones who believe and their hearts are peaceful with the remembrance of Allah. Listen, the hearts find peace only in the remembrance of Allah.”

(Sahih International)
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah . Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.”

-Sura Ar-Ra’d, Ayah 28

Allah also tells us,

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
Establish Salāh at both ends of the day, and in the early hours of the night. Surely, good deeds erase bad deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.

(Sahih International)
And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

-Sura Hud, Ayah 114

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
And be patient, for Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste.

(Sahih International)
And be patient, for indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.

-Sura Hud, Ayah 115

(Mufti Taqi Usmani)
Then, why is it that there were no people, among the generations before you, who would have enough remnants of wisdom to stop others from creating disorder in the land, except a few among them whom We saved (from Our punishment)? And the wrongdoers pursued the luxuries they were involved in, and they became sinners.

(Sahih International)
So why were there not among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth – except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.

-Sura Hud, Ayah 116

Allah is warning us to remember, this life is short those our indulgence is deep therein. We lose our selves in the delusions of the dunya or this life. It is easy to forget the goal of our existence.

Personally, I find the distractions of this world, well distracting. Though I know the saying that this world is a bridge upon which on should enjoy the view but not build a house on it.

I’m familiar with the world being likened to an oasis and our destination is not this oasis.

How then, do I shake this? How do I get myself of of the “couch”? How then can I get myself to feel that euphoria of imaan?

The answers to these questions are all simple. It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad, صلى الله عليه و سلم, told us to remember the destroyer of pleasure often. To remember death is often is not morbid; rather to remember death is to remember that we have a goal. To consume is not that goal, rather our goal is, whether one knows or not, is to become pleasing to Allah.

Is it Clear to you yet?

The toughest part of running this blog is that I haven’t been.

So many thoughts run through my mind, a river of emotions, a torrent of shadows, as I struggle with my demons, as I reach out, desperately grasping at the downpour, my hands are just left wet and my thirst unquenched.

I know somewhere before this new AD year set in, meaning 2020, I told someone that everything will become very clear. It didn’t take long for this notion to manifest.

As the first 4 months have cleft the soul of the world into fragments the distinction is clear: those who fear the inevitable and those who understand that it is just that.

Is death to be feared? We all will die at some time. Being in some tight scrapes my desire for it left. Yet, my acceptance of it has only deepened. Life is death. Death is life.

It has become clear that those who wish to live forever have, from my reading, donned there masks in hope that the Angel of Death won’t recognize them. This is an exercise in futility.

For He will come to all of us one day and the only thing we can do is prepare and THAT is our sole purpose for living.

Do you see? Or sea?

The reality of an organization can be seen in it’s logo. The symbolism of a corporate logo has been discussed at length elsewhere. Sometimes they are clear representations of a goal the organization has. At other times, they will illustrate what the public will gain from using them.

This logo, of the Jewish Discovery Center it both.

Can you see what I do?

It is rather clear. For the goal, the purpose and public “benefit” are all the same.
